Privacy Policy

Clear, product-specific privacy information for Aura.

Aura is designed so most of your personal app data stays on your device. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with ad networks, and we do not disclose it to unrelated third parties. When we need outside tools to run the product, we currently use RevenueCat for subscriptions and PostHog for product analytics.

What This Policy Covers

This policy applies to the Aura iOS app and this marketing site. It explains what information Aura stores locally, what information is sent to our service providers, and the choices you have.

Information Stored On Your Device

Aura stores most app state locally on your device so the app can work the way you expect.

  • Profile information you choose to add, such as your name.
  • Onboarding responses and preferences used to personalize your experience.
  • App settings, preferences, and saved choices.
  • Session history and in-app progress used to show stats, streaks, milestones, and recommendations.
  • Custom content you create in the app.

Information Sent To Service Providers

Aura currently uses two third-party service providers to operate the app: RevenueCat and PostHog.

  • RevenueCat is used to manage subscriptions, purchases, restores, trial eligibility, and premium access.
  • PostHog is used for product analytics so we can understand how Aura is being used and improve the product. This includes analytics about app usage and product interactions.

Email Addresses And Support

Aura does not ask for your email address to create an account or to use the app, and we do not collect email addresses as part of normal app use.

If you choose to email support, we will receive your email address and any information you include in your message. We use that information only to respond to you and help with your support request.

Subscription And Premium Download Requests

When Aura checks premium access or requests premium content, we use subscription-related identifiers and security checks to confirm that the request is valid and that premium features should be available.

Any supporting server-side security records used for these checks are designed to be temporary.

Notifications

Aura can ask for permission to send local notifications, including reminders related to your practice and subscription experience. These are optional and can be turned off at any time in iOS Settings or inside the app where applicable.

Aura schedules those reminders using Apple's notification system. We do not use a third-party push notification provider.

Apple Health

Aura includes optional Apple Health integration for writing mindful session data to the Health app. This is off by default and only happens if you grant Health permission.

If enabled, Aura writes mindful-session records to Apple Health. We do not use a separate third-party health-data platform in the current implementation.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store, with RevenueCat helping us manage entitlement and purchase state. We do not receive your full payment card details directly.

How We Use Information

  • To operate the app and save your settings, progress, and custom content.
  • To unlock premium features and verify subscription status.
  • To deliver optional reminder notifications that you choose to enable.
  • To support optional Apple Health mindful-session syncing.
  • To understand product usage, improve the app, and diagnose issues.
  • To protect premium features and our services from misuse.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with ad networks, data brokers, or unrelated third parties.

We do share limited information with the service providers that help us run Aura:

  • RevenueCat, for subscriptions and entitlement verification.
  • PostHog, for analytics.
  • Apple, where needed to process App Store subscriptions and support system features you choose to use, such as notifications and Apple Health.

Data Retention

Local Aura data generally remains on your device until you remove it, reset the app, or uninstall the app. Service-provider data is retained according to the applicable provider's systems and policies. Temporary security records used to protect the service are not kept longer than needed.

Your Choices

  • You can decline notification permission or turn notifications off later in iOS Settings.
  • You can decline Apple Health access or revoke it later in the Health app or iOS Settings.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple's subscription settings.
  • You can remove local Aura data by deleting content in the app where available or uninstalling the app.
  • If you have a privacy request or want help identifying records associated with your account or device, email aurameditationapp@gmail.com.
